Luckiest, Unlucky People in the World!

Okay, the title says it. Tyler and I are the luckiest, unlucky people in the world. I don't believe in luck, things just happen and we are just supposed to deal with it as it comes. But lately I have been thinking that luck just might exist.

Tyler has been getting lots of overtime, which is great! We have a few debts we need to pay off so all of that overtime money has been going to that. Then on Tuesday, Tyler gets pulled over. I know, I know, this seems to always happen to Tyler. He didn't get a ticket, thank goodness! But we completely forgot about the tags on Tyler's truck, they are expired. So that is going to cost a pretty penny. Oh and I didn't get into my class which I was like #2 on the waiting list. Lame!

Later that day we decided to go eat at Red Robin because I get a bomb disc
ount and we have no food in our apartment. We just haven't had time or money to go shopping. So anyways... We go there and it's a 20 minute wait, and if you know Tyler at all you know that he doesn't wait longer than 15 minutes for a restaurant. We probably shouldn't have been spending the money at all due to our recent expenses but I was starving! So we went to our favorite place in Fresno so far, Yosemite Falls Cafe. We only waited a minute or so but while we were waiting we found a flyer for a contest. A talent contest! The winner at the end gets $500 Cash! We're totally in! When we signed Tyler up, we found out that there wasn't a lot of competition. There is no doubt that he will make it through the first round. We'll find out what kind of luck we have tonight!

Now lets talk about yesterday.

I had work in the morning which was pretty boring. But I had a meeting with my managers and I am going to be on the expeditor schedule n
ext week. YAY! Finally! After work I went to school and thought I would try sitting in on a class, not enrolled and not on the waitlist. The instructor said that she can only accept 25 students. So naturally I thought I had no chance. As she took roll, there was hope! She counted all the students. There was exactly 25 students in the classroom. Everyone present got in! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! What luck right! Oh it gets better!

After class I called Tyler to let him know about the great news. But for some reason we kept cutting out. I was walking through campus at 9 o'clock at night, looking down at my phone. While looking down I saw what I thought was a dollar. As I got closer I saw that it was $20 dollars! I finally got through to Tyler on the phone and told him all the great news!

When I got home I decided that we should celebrate with a McFlurry. I got Oreo and Tyler got a Rolo.

They ran out of Rolo...

BUT! They made Tyler a special one with Oreo and caramel. It was delicious!

On our way home we found super cheap gas, so we filled up my car with the rest of the 20!

We got home in such a great mood and slept great.

After Tyler left for work I got a call from him. He got a flat tire. It was the used tire we had to get after a blowout he had 6 months ago. So yeah, pretty sucky. Luckily he was close to a Walmart and his employer was very understanding. Unluckily, they couldn't patch it and they don't have used tires. So Tyler had to buy a brand new tire. $$$$.... yeah.

And here we are. Me writing this blog about how blessed we are. which is very true. We are truly blessed. We don't live in poverty, we have a great family, great home, jobs and each other! It seems that stuff like this happen to us often, but we aren't the only ones.(I hope at least) Don't worry about us. We always figure it out. Heavenly father never gives us challenges that he knows that we can't handle. We have just accepted that Tyler and I will always live like this. With tons of blessing and tons of trials!

Oh and Tangled is now on Netflix! LUCKY!

Real Women Wear Clothes

Okay so this is has been a subject that has been on my mind ever since I can remember. Women are such beautiful creatures. Their curves have been the object of artists for centuries. But in these times, women feel that being beautiful means that they must show all the goods. This isn't the case. A woman can be pretty and even sexy while dressing and acting modestly. All these examples are standards of the church but I believe that it should be applied to everyone! I would like to give a few examples of these as well as alternatives to certain fashions. Being modest doesn't mean you have to dress frumpy!

The Little Black Dress

The little black dress is something that every woman needs in her closet. Don't make the mistake of doing it incorrectly. A woman can be sexy without being trashy!

Here is how you can do this right!

Okay so just because your dressing modestly doesn't mean you miss out on the latest trends. All it takes is some creative thinking!

The Country Trend

This is cute but a tad short. I'm afraid this model had to shave pretty high to rock this look.

How cute is this dress! It even comes with a handsome stallion!

Okay so I love spring/summer dresses. But when it starts to get hot outside its tempting to shed those layers. It isn't needed if you look for a light fabric like cotton for your clothing. I know, I know, it is so difficult to find modest outfits for summer time. It can be done!

Holy Boobies Batman!

Here are some summer looks that will make your parents proud!

More summer looks...

I know that I am giving a lot of examples but I really want to make the point that it isn't impossible to dress appropriately. I understand that not everyone lives by the standards of the church but some take it a bit far. How often have you noticed someone showing a little too much and you just cant help but blush. It's not my place to judge but this entry is directed to those who dress in clothes that attract the wrong kind of attention. You can be a bold, powerful woman that makes a statement without showing too much skin! Those who aren't members of the church sometimes believe that we present ourselves like nuns. :-p We hold high standards for ourselves and try our best to live by them. Being virtuous in dress isn't the only way to be modest. A true lady will present herself with pose and manners. A woman can be pretty on the outside but the second she starts cursing or acts inappropriately, she becomes ugly. (ask almost any man and he'll agree)

This brings me to the point that real women aren't only modest and virtuous, but also healthy. Why is there this obsession with thin and sickly looking women?!? I'm not saying that all thin women are unhealthy. But we are all built differently and because of that, our healthy weight differs from woman to woman. Please ladies, don't be what your not! Love your body and show it off correctly!

Bathing suits can be modest too!

So how flippin' cute are all of these. and not to mention, SEXY!

Girls, Girls, Girls! You are all beautiful, please take these tips to heart. We all can be virtuous and lovely in appearance and attitude!

All these modest clothes come from Target, Shabbyapple.com and Modcloth.com.

Married Life.. So Far (part two)

This is in response to the last blog

http://lotsoflittlelovelylikables.blogspot.com/2011/05 /married-lifeso-far-part-one.html?spref=fb

This is what I've learned so far as a husband.

1. That Nina does not know, nor does she care about the difference between a samurai sword and a Claymore.

This is what Nina thought I had.

This is what I actually had.

FREEDOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2. I have a tendency to be more of a girl than she is.

when all I wanna do is cuddle, she would just as soon take a nap.

3. Morning erections:

Although these are not new to me, I have found that they have been happening more regularly now that I have a beautiful woman lying next to me every morning. She usually just laughs at me, but I would rather take advantage of it.

4. Nina will never ever have a full nights sleep ever again.

This is something that Nina still hopes for but I know will never happen. I know this because she is a princess and as much as I have tried and continue to try to make her comfortable, she still ends up tossing and turning until she finally doses off with a final whimper of defeat only to be woken up again by me simply pulling on a blanket... oh... seconds later.

5. Just because Nina does not say my name before speaking, does not mean that she is not talking directly to me.

Many, many arguments have been started ironically by me simply not saying anything.

6. Reading together really is very romantic...

... especially when the book you're reading is about how to better you sex life as a married couple. Ha ha ha. But it really is nice just to hear Nina reading. It's very relaxing.

7. I guess Nina pay's closer attention than I do.

I can only think of seven things so far. But that's the good thing about a blog, the posts are on going. So in the words of Nina's Dad, ".........................."

Married Life...So Far (part one)

Okay, so Tyler and I have been married for about 2 weeks now and it is absolutely amazing! We love married life! but we both learned very quickly that being married comes with lessons that must be learned. So we have decided to give a quick list of things that we've learned so far as a married couple.

This is what I have learned so far as a wife.

1. That samurai sword hanging on the wall has a lot of meaning.

To be fair, Tyler was very quick to take it down. He saw it coming a mile away.

2. During an argument, "Lets just drop it" isn't a sufficient way to end it.

This is a lesson that I learned just recently. Sometimes in a heated discussion, you just want it to end so you two can make up. But it isn't that easy. Arguments are good for couples because they build dimension to their relationship. Always try to forgive as soon as possible but never forget the love you share even when it seems to be the hardest to.

3. Two words: Morning erection.

Haha. Sorry Tyler. I know why it happens(the last R.E.M cycle and what not) but I didn't compute to me that it's something that happens every morning.

4. I need to not be such a light sleeper.

With time I will learn not to wake up and get annoyed at every tiny movement or noise that Tyler makes during the night. Hello, My name is Karina Carol Heywood and I am the princess and the pea.

5. Both our families are equally as important to spend time with.

This is a very serious lesson that I am constantly learning. Because Tyler's family is just so wonderful, it is easier to spend time with them. Guiltily, I put his family on a pedestal when I really need to understand that every family has their problems. Some just display them differently.

6. Just because Tyler is consumed in his music, it doesn't mean he's ignoring me.

Even though I knew what I was getting into, it doesn't make it any easier. Don't get me wrong though, Tyler's love for music is one of the things that made me fall in love with him but it can be a bit much sometimes. To be fair to Tyler, I require a lot of attention. ;-)

7. Reading together is probably the most romantic thing that a couple can do.

We actually started this on the way to our honeymoon and it was wonderful. We even read to each other on our honeymoon as one of our activities ;-)

8. Everyone has their particular love language.

Every person shows their love in a particular way. Some are "Do-ers," some are "verbal" and Tyler is a "cuddlier." No surprise there! :-p

9. Practice, practice, practice!

Okay so this one is not for the faint of heart. So skip this one if you don't want to risk mental images!

With out being too detailed, our "maritals" are pretty much AWESOME! But we very quickly learned that we need a lot practice. We both are able to "preform" if you get my drift but because of our size differences it takes some choreography. I mean come on, we aren't porn stars! Even just a couple more sessions since our honeymoon has shown improvement.

10. No matter what kind of day either you or your spouse has had, it is always good to greet your significant other with a smile and kiss.

This is a habit that Tyler and I know we need to get into. We both understand that with our good times in marriage, will come our bad and sometimes our worse. Even faking a smile will sometimes even change an attitude!

Look for part two! What is Tyler going to say?

Honeymoon

Alright so we all know that Tyler and I want nothing more to get married. Let's face it, we were made for each other. but we also know that we are the poorest couple ever! So our wedding isn't going to be the most extravagant. Well we have a chance to have a wonderful honeymoon! We've entered a contest where our close friends and family leave comments why we should win. That's it! just leave a few comments. Judging is based on the winning couple's comments left by friends and family! so what are you waiting for???

Please help my friends Karina & Tyler win a dream honeymoon with @seadreamyc. Vote for them here: http://tinyurl.com/37vwcu5
